LAHORE: In a telephonic address to his party’s conventions in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan today, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain shot out a warning to the feudals in Punjab.
In the largest ever convention of the party in Pakistan’s Punjab province, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s chief Altaf Hussain said the massive gathering is aimed at freeing the people of Punjab from the clutches of feudalism.
Hussain, addressing the rallies over phone from London, said Pakistan’s debt would be returned by selling those lands held and owned by bank loan defaulters. He said actually “it is our fault who cast vote in favor of defaulters of enormous debts,” asking, “Why do people of Punjab keep voting for plunderers and looters who have been tried before?” He said the people will have to make a pledge not to support thieves.
“No political party has so far organized such mass gatherings simultaneously in main cities of Punjab,” he added.
MQM was denied holding its Punjab convention at Minar-e-Pakistan by the authorities citing security concerns, one of its leader Faisal Subzwari disclosed on a Talk Show on Saturday.
The MQM chief said if people of Punjab support MQM he will eliminate the old culture of brutality, stressing that MQM would rid the country of 62- year shackles of politics of inheritance. He said his party would set the masses free of feudal system.
Simultaneously addressing huge crowds which gathered in the three big cities of Punjab, the MQM Chief said the political slogans, promising the people of Punjab Roti, Kapra aur Makan (food, clothing and shelter) have been raised for the last 62 years, but residents still have nothing.
The MQM chief said his party’s resolve to save Pakistan is stronger than ever. He believed the large crowds that gathered at the conventions are also here to save Pakistan.
He added that this is just the beginning of MQM’s journey into the province of Punjab.
Altah Hussain claimed that in the past, the MQM was not allowed to campaign in the largest province of Pakistan.
Altaf said the creation of new provinces on the basis of administrative units was not sedition, Aaj News reported. The issue of Seraiki region and South Punjab would be resolved, he promised.
He also spoke about the Kashmir issue and said the matter cannot be resolved without taking the Kashmiris themselves into confidence.
Political observers are attaching significant importance to MQM’s foray in Punjab – specially becuase of its middle-class based politics and urban-based management system which are already a success in the southern city of Karachi. But whether the well-entrenched traditional political stalwarts of Punjab would allow MQM an easy landing is an open question.

WAKE UP Guys. MQM is a bhata khor party and will never get anywhere other than Karachi and Hyderabad. If MQM is the real hope what has it been doing for the past decade. It has been in govt along with PPP, PML, Mushy. They are power hungry only.
M.Q.M despite all its odds is the only HOPE to the people of Pakistan. People through out the country are joining and supporting the AGENDA of this party. I due to nature of my business travel frequently through out Pakistan especially the rural areas and what I have experienced and witnessed is that people in small cities and villages of Punjab are rapidly joining hands with M.Q.M and youngsters are very enthusiastic about it. I my self met a group of young villagers in Moza Jamal Cunnar and Karor Pka (villages near Bhawalpur) who were very proud of associating themselves with M.Q.M and following its Leader Mr Altaf Hussain
M.Q.M needs to be more open and flexible to attract masses from rural areas who in the beginning may feel it difficult to adopt M.Q.M strict organization discipline ( which many critics give the name “fascism” )they must make more effort to reach each and every village of Punjab.
I think it is high time that we come to our senses for the sake of Pakistan. The only people who can save the Pakistan are from Punjab and Sindh. For the last 62 years the poor are getting poorer and majority of the parties have their own agenda. We need to listen to MQM and forget about the past events because if we go in past many will be exposed and nobody will benefit.
Therefore, in the name Pakistan we should look forward and support the MQM ideology to bring lower and middle class educated young people in the main stream who can work one lines set by Quadie Azam and Allama Iqbal.

do you want an end of feudal system? if no then continue to support other political parties? if yes then read about this political party and read about Mustafa Kamal and other workers? this party was targeted by PPP and PML(N) and others in the past, even Imran joined the band wagon but later on when he studied it he realized and commented in favor of MQM, i will suggest all of you to please use your mind instead of watching fake youtube videos and rest, when they do the work in Karachi, you people(Jamatis) say it’s funded by west, when they come up with agenda in Punjab and ask for middle class person to come into politics, you say other worst things, common guys till when you keep on behaving like crying children, this behavior of yours have given you Raja Pervez Ashraf, Asif Ali Zardari, Fehmida Mirza( who spend 1 million on purchase of new car tyres), Jamshed dasti, Raja riaz etc
