An Oxford University graduate, Imran Khan was one of the most admired cricketers in the world in the 1970’s. He was Pakistan cricket team’s captain who along with the other members of his team won the World Cup in 1992, for first and the only time.

Khan built a cancer hospital after raising funds for years in his mother’s memory in Lahore in 1994. A conservative Muslim, Khan tied the knot with a Jewish heiress but parted ways and entered politics.

For his will and personal integrity, Khan in the last 15 years has become a superstar from the political punch line and has off late attracted several heavy-hitting politicians in his party PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf).

Khan along with a couple of people feels that he has the potential to become the next Prime Minister of Pakistan. Just recently on 30th Oct, Khan organised a huge political rally in Lahore which pulled a crowd of almost 200,000 people and which was one amongst the largest political rally that has been seen in Pakistan so far.

The PTI chairman also stated he will terminate the co-operation of Pakistan in the battle against militants residing in the tribal areas, reject all US aid and also end American drone campaign.

For a couple of people who lost hope in their political system and a democratic system, Imran Khan is the sole person they have hope in.
