New Delhi- Though, the session of the Indian Parliament ended on a disappointing note for the Congress, but the party has decided the issue to make poll plank in the forthcoming state elections. According to the reports, the Congress leadership is planning hard to use the entire issue in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa elections.

The Congress argument is that all the political parties, specially the BJP have been plugging for strong anti-corruption laws, but when it came to a vote on the bill in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha they opposed the Lokpal Bill.
Senior Congress leader, Ambika Soni said, “Congress is not going to sit quiet. It is a clear cut political game. We are going to tell people that we did what we had promised: Bring the Bill. In fact in the last 64 years we have got the highest numbers of laws to stop corruption.”
In the mean time, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Bansal said, “We promised to only introduce the Bill but we also got it passed in Lok Sabha where things were in our hand as we were in simple majority.”
He said further, “The government was in minority in RS and the onus was on other parties to get the bill passed. We are going to tell the people that it was the BJP which did want a Lokpal as they blocked it in Rajya Sabha. It is the collective duty of Parliament to get it passed.
