Islamabad- Hearing into the case of Osama bin Laden’s three widows and two of his grown-up daughters’ illegal residency, a Pakistani court sentenced them 45-days’ detention. After completing the ‘jail sentence’ Osama’s widows will be deported to their own countries.

According to the AFP report, the 45-day sentence will be counted from March 3, when they were formally arrested. Hence, all the five members of Osama family will stay in ‘house arrest’ for more 15 days. Their deportation process could be completed within two weeks.

The Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed in US Navy SEALs raid at his Abbottabad compound on May 2 last year and since then his two Saudi and one Yemeni widow have been in Pakistani custody, with their children. All have been kept under house arrest in Islamabad’s ‘most secured zone’.

defence lawyer Muhammad Aamir said: “The interior secretary has been directed to arrange their deportation.” He said further: “I think it will be completed probably in two weeks.”

Aamir said the judge imposed a fine of 10,000 rupees ($110) each, which was paid by Zakarya Ahmad Abd al-Fattah, the Yemeni brother of bin Laden’s youngest and reputedly favourite wife, Amal. He said: “They were “all in good health” and had all spoken during Monday’s proceedings.â€
A police report said that bin Laden hid in Pakistan for 10 years after the 9/11 attacks and fathered four of his children in the country.

Bin Laden’s two other wives have been identified as Khairiah Sabar and Siham Sabar. The three women have an undisclosed number of children among them.
