Mumbai: Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan is all set to appear as a super-villain Proto Goblin in the new Spiderman movie. From very long we have been listening about Indian connection with the next coming movie of Spiderman series and now it’s clear that Irrfan is going to play the super villain.
In an earlier interview, Khan had confessed that he agreed to star in on one condition – he wouldn’t play either a masked villain or sci-fi monster. The Indian actor was reluctant to play the role as he ‘didn’t want to be part of this violent American fantasy.
Irrfan is one of the few stars of the Hindi film industry to have made it big in Hollywood. Right from his first film ‘Salaam Bombay’ where he had a small part to play. The film even went on to be nominated for the Oscars.
The actor will be essaying the role of Dr. Ratha in the Amazing Spider-Man and won’t require him to play the red-skinned, yellow-haired Proto-Goblin. The Proto-Goblin, like many super villains, is a normal human being who morphs into an evil incarnation.
He recently worked on the third season of the HBO series In Treatment, enacting the part of Sunil, who is finding it difficult to come to terms with his wife’s death and loneliness after moving to New York, USA.
