Popular pop rock band Backstreet Boys is coming to India. It will be Backstreet Boys’ first visit to India.
The band that has 14 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and have sold over 130 million records worldwide is very popular in the Indian sub-continent.
The American multi-Grammy nominated pop band will participate in this year’s Rock In India 2010 festival along with pop/rock singer Richard Marx and South African band Prime Circle.
The festival is an annual western musical event staged in India.
Heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden in 2009 and Megadeth participated in the 2008 festivals held in Bangalore.
This time Delhi has been added is on the list of venues.
“Delhi has always been a good market for live entertainment so when I got this opportunity to expand our festival Rock in India Delhi was the obvious choice, ” said T. Venkat Vardhan of DNA Networks, India.
The Rock in India concert will take place in Delhi on February 20 and in Bangalore on February 22.

I thought this was a rock festival. We just had “Hammerfall” in Chennai and you would except Bangalore to host something just as good or even better! We need Ozzy, Motley Crue or Metal Church..something along those lines… Who needs BSB???????

Hey Yousuf i agree with you words music is above this madness i think this makes us rockers and Metal lovers look really evil with all the reactions that the festival has got. I am a big fan of Bolt Thrower and Preist but am still going to the festival. The line up is not very heavy but hasn’t anyone checked Prime Circle out? they are similar to Nickelback. And Jaycee Lewis who is the heaviest there can’t wait for that.

Even im a metal head, love soad to slipknot to lamb of god to soulfly. i love rock/metal music. but rock music is more about music than madness. its crazy, loud, tight n everything, but it still is music. n bsb is a world class, multi-grammy nominated or grammy winning band. and being rockstars n metalheads v must welcome them nn give them an ear. soad calls them “milky boys” n mocks them. fred durst makes fun of them, but thats just professionally. behind the scenes they’re all good friends n respect each others piece of work. ben moody wouldn’t have produced n composed celine dion then. so peace, no rock, no pop. music first, music last, music always.
