Sania Mirza's Engagement Called Off

Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza’s engagement has been called off.

Sania Mirza was engaged to Mohammed Sohrab Mirza, son of the family who owns Universal Bakers in India. The two families were friends and the couple were childhood friends. The engagement was arranged with mutual consent.

The Hyderabadi tennis sensation broke quite a few hearts when she got engaged in July last year, and even more when she declared she would quite the game after she gets married.

Sania said though they were friends for 5 years they found themselves incompatible during the engagement period, and that she wishes Sohrab the best in life.

Sohrab’s father Adil Mirza too confirmed the news saying that the breakup was agreed to per children’s mutual consent.

Sania Mirza now will focus wholly on her game, which has taken a hit in recent years.

Sania plans to Kuala Lumpur on Friday, to participate in the Fed Cup Asia Oceania Group II competition that starts on 2nd February.
