Corey Haim was an iconic actor of the 80′s. He was found dead Wednesday (March 10). Corey was 38.
Sources say drug overdose is suspected in his death. Los Angeles police have not yet determined what substance killed actor Corey Haim.
Haim struggled with addiction to crack, alcohol and prescription medication for years. A number of prescription-medication bottles were found near the actor’s body and that his mother confirmed that he’d long struggled with a pill addiction.
Haim was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles apartment by his mother at 3:30 a.m. Pacific time Wednesday.
Corey’s best friend Feldman released a statement to MTV News, and Alyssa Milano Tweeted with her reaction. ” Just woke up to the sad, sad news that Corey Haim passed away,” tweeted Milano, who dated Haim when they were both teenagers. “RIP sweet boy.”
Feldman said about Haim death: After the shocking news of Corey Haim’s death early Wednesday morning (March 10), best friend Corey Feldman has spoken out.
In a statement, Feldman told, “I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren’t even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face.”
“I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school,” Feldman continued.
The final sentence in the statement reads, “I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived.”
