Non-Resident Indian Oil Tycoon Commits Suicide in Dubai

DESPARDES — An Indian oil tycoon committed suicide by jumping off a building in Dubai on April 23 due to financial problems.

The mortal remains of non-resident Indian businessman Joy Arakkal, a Keralite based in Dubai, will be flown to India by a charted flight.

He had been in the petroleum business for the last 20 years, and was among the Indian businessmen awarded the 10-year Gold Card visa by the UAE government in 2019. His 45,000 square feet “Arakkal Palace”is considered to be one of the largest homes in Kerala.
