The Photographic News. Two Rainbows. A Rose.

In 1868 a reviewer for The Photographic News described a set of prints made by Julia Margaret Cameron as ‘altogether repulsive’. Searching for the original source of this comment for an article I was writing, I came across a digitized archive of TPN and tumbled down a wonderful rabbit hole. More here.

Two Rainbows

In February, Dr. Gholam Mustafa (Qalandar) -residing in California, shared a panoramic shot that he took of two rainbows ‘landing’ on the earth. It’s a colorful hellfire from the sky!

A rose doesn’t smell soooo gooood without thorns (I am told). Seeing it outside my hang out window is akin to a breaking news –I’m fed up with them these days. These show up as semi-colons and periods in our daily rituals. But a rose is a rose is a rose for me.
